Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and developing relations with the other member states are among the priorities of the Armenian government. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced this during the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council session in Yerevan.
“Armenia is making every effort to develop collaborative activities with member states of the EAEU,” Nikol Pashinyan assured. Speaking to the prime ministers and deputy prime ministers of the EAEU states, he said, “Changes are taking place at the roots in Armenia, which are having an effect on every sector of society. Widespread changes are taking place, which will help us to have a developed and competitive economy.”
According to Nikol Pashinyan, there were tremendous results in the fight against corruption in Armenia over the past year. Armenia was also able to establish equal conditions for business owners and to strengthen the independence of the judicial system. “No one can use political levers for manipulation anymore in order to reach their financial goals. That strengthened the political and economic atmosphere in Armenia.”
Nikol Pashinyan also said that the Armenian government is legitimate and widely trusted. Regarding Armenia’s membership in the EAEU, Pashinyan said that goods turnover increased between Armenia and the EAEU member states and that Armenia will make efforts to improve economic collaborations. According to Pashinyan, it is important for Armenia for all obstacles to be removed from trading in the EAEU market. It is also important to develop trade and mutual markets.
