The lawyers of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, who has been accused of overthrowing constitutional order, read a letter written by current President of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan and second President of Artsakh Arkadi Ghukasyan about how Robert Kocharyan will carry out all duties imposed by the court if he is released. In their letter of guarantee, the presidents emphasized that they understand the possibility of criminal liability should Kocharyan not carry out his responsibilities correctly. Judge Davit Grigoryan announced that the letter of guarantee regarding changing Kocharyan’s deterrence method needs to be discussed in the presence of Bako Sahakyan and Arkadi Ghukasyan, since they need to reaffirm their guarantees in court. The intermediation discussion has been postponed temporarily so that Kocharyan’s lawyers can confirm when the presidents can be present at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction. Until then, Kocharyan’s lawyers are presenting the case for changing his deterrence method without guarantors.
