Month-long celebrations of Europe Day 2019 in Armenia are approaching the finish line, and final events are ahead this Sunday on May 26. Europe Day open-air celebrations in Yerevan will be launched with Nordic walking, around 500 participants have already registered. Nordic walking will start at 10:00 on May 26, from the Vardan Mamikonyan statue round-point (Vardanants street).
On 26 May, at 17:00, Europe Day Info Fair will wait for the visitors at the Northern Avenue (between Pushkin and Teryan streets), followed by an open-air concert at the Freedom Square at 20:00. Aram MP3, Spanish famous singer Lara Taylor and DJ Ocean will perform.
At 18:00 we invite journalists to the EU Delegation press booth, where the EU Ambassador Piotr Świtalski’s media briefing will take place. The Ambassador will conclude Europe Day celebrations and will answer journalists’ questions. Journalists’ registration will start at 17:45.
Europe Day 2019 activities are being held under the “Road to Europe” theme. This year the celebrations were held in five Armenian cities and are culminated in Yerevan. Europe Day first regional open-air celebration was held in Kapan on 11 May. Yeghegnadzor hosted the Europe Day celebrations on 12 May. Ijevan hosted the celebration on 17 May, Dilijan – on 18 May, Gyumri hosted the celebrations on 19 May. A classical concert (Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony) took place in Yerevan on 21 May.

The Europe Day regional events were crowded this year, like every year. The festivities include informational, sports and entertainment activities, competitions for children and adults, and open-air concerts in all cities.
EU-funded multisectoral projects (human rights, justice, agriculture, culture, education, environment, tourism, business support, civil society, migration, etc.) implemented by the partner organisations in Armenia will be presented during the Info Fair. Visitors will get opportunity to meet the projects teams and learn about possible particiaptaion in the projects, as well as participate in cultural events, various competitions, get surprise gifts, enjoy music and dance, and taste drinks and food.
