During the presentation of the 2018 budget in parliament, My Step deputy Shirak Torosyan asked Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, “During the recent UN General Assembly meeting, where a Georgian resolution was passed regarding refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Armenia abstained from voting for the first time (in the past, Armenia would vote “against”). Is this a new position, or is this a new place for Armenian-Georgian relations and a return to the previous polite agreements? Should we expect similar treatment from Georgia towards Armenia?”
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan responded, “Armenia has strategic relations with Russia and a large agenda for deepening relations. This agenda has remained unchanged. We will continue in the same way. We also have an important agenda with Georgia, where our relations are connected to stability and security in the region. We are leading using these two paths while building relations with these countries.”
