The Armenian-Italian Business conference took place at the Gyumri Municipality conference hall. The Italian ambassador to Armenia, Vincenzo del Monaco, led a delegation comprised of representatives of different Italian organizations to Gyumri.
The mayor of Gyumri, Samvel Balasanyan, welcomed the ambassador. “Welcome to Gyumri. There is a lot of interest in our city due to its history. Not only do I welcome you myself, but I also welcome you on behalf of the residents of Gyumri. Come to Gyumri and make investments because you will be convinced about what kind of city we are during your visit. I know that there are different specialists and representatives here who have different interests. I can confidently say that we will stand by your side if you have plans for the future.”
The ambassador said, “I have a special place in my heart for Gyumri. As you know from my personal feelings, the culture and history of Gyumri reminds me of cities in Italy. This is a city that has a glorious past and that has done much for Armenia. This city has been through many difficulties in its past, but those difficulties were unable to defeat the positive energy that comes from this city. We have the kind of approach that when we say we’re going to Gyumri, it means that we’re going to see all of Armenia. Our intention of coming to Gyumri is not only cultural and political, but economic as well. As you can see, we are here on a serious mission and with a huge delegation.”
