“The European Union has decided to support this initiative to introduce laws in the filmmaking sector for a number of reasons. It is convinced that investments can be made to help advance the economy through culture,” the head of the EU delegation to Armenia and EU ambassador to Armenia Piotr Switalski said during hearings in parliament about creating laws on filmmaking.
According to the ambassador, the second reason for supporting the initiative is as follows: “We welcome Armenia’s participation in the Creative Europe program, so this support will promote that participation. In addition, we believe that filmmaking in Armenia has potential and has the opportunity to advance through investing in the necessary modern technology.”
