The EU is supporting the improvement of the legislative framework of the cinema sector in Armenia. On 17 June, the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, attended parliamentary hearings on “the main challenges of the film industry in Armenia and necessary legislative initiatives”.
The hearings were initiated by the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
The EU supports the development of relevant legislation within its “Preparation of the Draft Law on Cinematography as an Enabler of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement” project, implemented in cooperation with the country’s Golden Apricot Fund for Cinema Development.
