The freestyle wrestling competition among European adolescents kicked off in Faenza, Italy, where Armenia already has a contestant who will compete for a gold medal. Harutyun Hovhannisyan, who is in the 48 kg group, defeated his Russian opponent in the starting match. In the quarter-final, he defeated his Belarusian opponent 10:0, and in the semi-finals, he defeated his Azeri opponent, Ramik Heybatov. He entered the final competition, where he will compete against Macedonian Besir Alili on June 22nd.
Hayk Abrahamyan, who is 55 kg, will enter a competition to later compete for a bronze medal.
