“In such instances, I would not advise governing based on Azeri statements. They can state anything that doesn’t necessarily correspond to reality. Our analysis of the situation is what’s important,” My Step deputy and political analyst Mikayel Zolyan told Aravot Daily regarding Azeri Minister of Foreign Affairs Zakir Hasanov’s statement that international affairs do not allow Azerbaijan to start a war against Armenia at the moment.
“At the moment, if we are to look at things from Azerbaijan’s perspective, it would not benefit them to provoke Armenia or Artsakh. However, we cannot exclude the possibility of them being adventurous and taking certain steps. That is possible at any time. But after analyzing the current situation, the likelihood of there being an escalation of conflict is small, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible,” Mikayel Zolyan said.
