“The most important thing is human potential. The biggest advantage that the Tavush region has is the people who live here. They are the ones who protect the border. They have created and are creating values. I want to thank the people who have allowed us to continue to develop our region. We will move forward,” the governor of Tavush, Hayk Chobanyan, said during the My Step for the Tavush Province business conference in Dilijan.
The governor showed Tavush on the big screen and listed the opportunities and advantages of investment in the region. He called upon people to invest in Tavush. He said that there are talks about opening the Bagratashen airport, which sits on 7.5 hectares of land. This will not only be important for Armenia, but for the whole region as well.
The governor also said that the region was blessed with beautiful nature and that everything else remains up to the people, their boldness, their will, and their dreams. “We can turn Tavush into the best place and into the region with the highest standard of living,” he said, noting that the Aghstev valley has the mildest climate in Armenia. He also said that there are 17 different projects for tourism that are moving forward. “If they have not been implemented within a year, then they should at least be close to being implemented. Not only does nature allow us to have so much potential, but people do as well.”
According to Hayk Chobanyan, an examination was carried out years ago, which showed that the forests have the ability to produce 300 million euros worth of fruits. “This is only after counting fruit. The value could be much higher as a result of regrowth.”
