With the 2020 Presidential and Congressional campaigns heating up, the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) launched its federal election questionnaires, offering candidates an opportunity to share their views and highlight their records on key Armenian American policy priorities. This outreach is part of the ANCA’s broader mission to help Armenian American voters make informed choices at the ballot box next November.
“As a public service to our community, we are pleased, once again, to circulate both Congressional and Presidential candidate questionnaires,” said ANCA Executive Director Aram Hamparian. “Heading into the already hotly contested 2020 election season, we are committed to empowering Armenian Americans as fully informed voters on issues of special concern to our community.”
On-line Presidential and Congressional questionnaires invite candidates to outline their views on issues of special concern to Armenian Americans. The questionnaires are being circulated to the Trump campaign and all the candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination, as well as to incumbents and challengers seeking to win a seat in the upcoming 117th Congress. Responses to the questionnaires will be widely distributed to Armenian Americans prior to Election Day. The ANCA will weigh these responses as well as the past track records of individual candidates in making any endorsement decisions toward the end of the 2020 election cycle.
Among the policy areas covered by the questionnaires are the following:
