The EU will provide 15 new grants to fund several ideas for tourism development in the Syunik province of Armenia.
The grants totalling around €127,000 under the “EU4Tourism: Outdoor adventures on historic trails in Syunik” project will aim to develop new tourism products, including a new 300 km hiking trail from Goris to Kapan.
“I and European Union Delegation colleagues are very excited about these new tourism products, which will make visits to Syunik marz [province] even more interesting and help create income and new business opportunities to rural villages and communities in the region,” said Gregory Tsouris, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Armenia.
The EU project has been implemented together with the Czech non-governmental organisation (NGO) “People in Need”, Goris Development Center and the ARK Ecological NGO.
