On 25–29 June, Armenia hosted the “Fashion Forum Yerevan 2019”. The event gathered over 500 Armenian fashion industry representatives, including experts, designers, influencers, photographers and stylists. It was designed as a traditional event to boost Armenia’s fashion industry.
The event launch took place in the “Vordan Karmir” museum alongside the opening of a fashion exhibition by Armenian designers, entitled “Heritage”. Collections of traditional garments, accessories and samples of Taraz (the national dress) created by Armenian designers were presented to the visiting public and fashion lovers at the exhibition.
The forum concluded with a demonstration of fashion collections of Armenian designers at the “5Concept” store, followed by a cultural tour for international guests to Tavush province, to introduce them to Armenian culture through modern and ancient handicrafts, jewellery and cuisine made by the region’s locals.
The purpose of the forum was to further develop the fashion industry of Armenia and support local sector representatives to access the global fashion scene.
