The members of the National Assembly Committee on Foreign Relations held a press conference to discuss their visit to Poland.
Member of the Bright Armenia faction, Arman Babajanyan, said that he is disappointed in their parliamentary diplomacy overall. “I do not think that adequate work is being carried out by the National Assembly and the ministry with the EU and EU nations, and Poland is the prime example. Poland is very important for us. Perhaps some will remember how Poland tried to help Armenia after the political crisis in 2008; those efforts should not be regarded with indifference.”
According to Babajanyan, it seemed that Poland did not even know that the authorities changed in Armenia and that a revolution took place. “They continued to look at us as they looked at people who had ties with the former authorities. For example, it seemed that Armen Ashotyan was there instead of Ruben Rubinyan. And I did not notice a change in rhetoric or in content, even though we had such expectations.”
He also said he does not think Poland fully understood the amount of changes that took place in Armenia.
