‘I must disappoint everyone, but Poland will not support us in establishing visa-free regime’: Arman Babajanyan

July 14,2019 13:04

The members of the National Assembly Foreign Relations Committee held a press conference to discuss their visit to Poland.

Member of the Bright Armenia faction Arman Babajanyan was very disappointed. According to him, appropriate work was not carried out with Poland by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, and parliamentarians. “I must disappoint everyone, but Poland will not support us in the establishment of a visa-free regime because they have very specific questions about our foreign policies and our commitments.”

Deputy of the My Step faction Sos Avetisyan said that there was a good message that stated that Armenia should not tie the process of establishing a visa-free regime to the experiences of other countries.

Reporters asked if this means that Poland will prove to be an obstacle in attempting to establish a visa-free regime. Arman Babajanyan said, “I’m not saying that it won’t happen, but we should not have any hopes for it happening in 2020. There are issues that I cannot speak about at this time because they have to do with our security. There have been honest conversations in an attempt to understand how much the changes that took place in our country can improve our foreign policies with the EU and with individual EU member states. There are issues, but we will be successful if we work right.”
