The 16th annual Golden Apricot film festival’s closing ceremony was held on July 13th at the Moscow Cinema.
In the full-length films category, the Golden Apricot for Best Feature Film was awarded to Richard Billingham’s ‘Ray and Liz’ movie, and the Silver Apricot Prize for Feature Film was awarded to Kantemir Balagov’s ‘Beanpole.’ Hassan Fazili’s ‘Midnight Traveler’ received an honorable mention from the jury.
In the regional short films category, Marziyeh Riahi’s ‘Driving Lessons’ was awarded the Golden Apricot. Rati Tsiteladze’s ‘Prisoner of Society’ won the Silver Apricot. The Gennadi Melkonyan special award was given to Lilit Petrosyan’s ‘Baina.’
Tinatin Kajrishvili’s ‘Horizon’ won the FIPRESCI award in the regional panorama category. The Prime Minister’s award (GAIFF Pro’s platform for film development) was given to Tatev Hakobyan’s ‘Trap’ film.
