According to member of the Republican Party of Armenia’s council and former Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has lied to and disappointed the people who brought him to power once again. Eduard Sharmazanov based his opinion on the developing events taking place in Ijevan.
Residents of Ijevan had closed off the main routes to the city due to the fact that they were banned from cutting trees down. Then, clashes took place between citizens and police, which resulted in the arrest of 13 individuals. Nikol Pashinyan stated during a session of government that the government will not do work with anything that is illegal. During a meeting in the Tavush provincial government building, residents offered other solutions.
“He said that everyone is now the prime minister and that everyone now has the ability to make decisions. And these people, since they’re now Prime Ministers, decided to make use of the nature around them. But it seems that Nikol lied to the people in this instance too. Now he’s the only one who can be in charge. And sometimes, the Prime Minister is sheltered from the people by the police,” Eduard Sharmazanov noted.
He also believes that people will continue to be disappointed in Nikol Pashinyan. “This is inevitable because Nikol Pashinyan’s only skill is political fraud.”
