Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who went to Gyumri for the ‘My Step for the Shirak Region’ investment and business conference, also participated in the exhibition of locally produced goods. He visited each of the more than 60 vendors, spoke to them, and familiarized himself with the issues they face.
The Prime Minister was pleasantly surprised by the shoes produced in Gyumri. The shoes were being presented by several vendors and they were available at affordable prices. The shoes were also made out of genuine leather. The head of the Tavros shoe factory in Gyumri gifted Pashinyan a pair of shoes.
Nikol Pashinyan gladly accepted the gift and said that he will advertise the shoes. He emphasized that he was only wearing Armenian-produced clothing besides his tie.
The Prime Minister also proudly spoke about this during his speech at the business conference.

He also said that the government’s vision for the country’s future is not focused around microbusinesses, but instead around production.
“Our country needs to be a producer,” Nikol Pashinyan said. “The workforce of the Republic of Armenia needs to receive high salaries. The workers of Armenia need to be of the best quality.”
He said that the culture needs to develop in Armenia so that Armenian consumers will choose locally-made products when shopping.
