During a press conference dedicated to Armenia-EU relations and the Armenian diplomatic mission, the EU ambassador to Armenia Piotr Switalski noted that there is a high level of trust towards the EU in Armenia. More than 60 percent of Armenians have positive views on the European Union.
Reporters asked him if he could point out the mistakes made by the Armenian government over the past 2 years, as well as his own mistakes. Switalski said, “I will leave the evaluation of my mistakes up to you. You can decide how many mistakes I’ve made. When I look back and think about what I’ve done, my achievements have been clear. But if you want my more critical opinion, I was mostly right. I might have made some mistakes, but they were mostly minor ones. Many events took place during my mission here: the Velvet Revolution, Sasna Tsrer, and April War, which any diplomat would consider to be challenging. But I feel satisfied overall. Now when I visit Armenia and meet with Armenians, I think they appreciate everything.”
