“It’s important to create a political agenda on all fronts because not having any political ties with Turkey and having good relations with Georgia and Iran have an important impact on our atmosphere of security,” Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan said to reporters. He added, “I must state an important fact: the Russian-Georgian War had a worse economic effect on Armenia than the April War. This means that it’s important for us to make our system of government into the type that will allow such events to have as minimal impact as possible.”
The Security Council secretary said that there is positive movement in Armenia’s relations with Georgia. Besides that, he noted that security forces and branches of the executive government are working together to understand the economic methods in which Armenia can work with Georgia.
Grigoryan assured that there is also positive movement in Armenia-Iran relations. Discussions are taking place for collaboration in the energy sector and for making use of all possible opportunities. “There aren’t any major issues in Armenia-Iran relations in this aspect.”
