‘If Prime Minister found it necessary, he would have published it’: Vladimir Karapetyan in response to demands to publish name of secret document

August 05,2019 22:16

There was a lot of criticism surrounding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s announcement about a secret document signed during Serzh Sargsyan’s administration. Since Pashinyan said that the document was signed in 2014 and refused to say its name, this caused many people to comment.

Representatives of the former administration have said that they are unaware of what document Nikol Pashinyan is referring to.

The Constitutional Court has published a decision regarding which part of a secret state and service document needs to be published, and which part does not. It was decided that if the document does not contain specific information, it needs to be published.

Aravot Daily, using the Constitutional Court’s decision as a basis, asked the Prime Minister’s Spokesperson Vladimir Karapetyan whether it is possible to know what document Nikol Pashinyan was referring to. “If the Prime Minister found it necessary, he would have said it.”

He said that it was necessary to think about the content and analyze the facts and not try to find out the name of the document.
