“I have always supported unification and the steps I’ve taken were towards that goal. But we don’t need to do that openly now. But I welcome Pashinyan’s statement. He is the first leader who has openly made such a statement and who has presented the world with the Armenian position,” former Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Samvel Babayan said in regards to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that “Artsakh is Armenia and that’s it.”
“Artsakh will have a president after the elections, but Nikol Pashinyan must represent Artsakh’s interests during negotiations. The day that a governor is appointed in Artsakh is the day that won’t be necessary anymore,” Samvel Babayan noted.
