The Yerevan Telecommunication Research Institute CJSC is one of the two Armenian companies that was sanctioned by the USA.
The director of the institute, Mher Markosyan, told Aravot Daily that this news was a surprise. He only found out about it from the media. He especially emphasized, “We’re clean.”
A public statement shared by the Yerevan Telecommunication Research Institute states, “Taking into consideration the situation that has arisen due to the fact that the YTRI has been included on the United States’ blacklist, there has been a misunderstanding. The YTRI CJSC as an enterprise has never had connections with Iran or with any other organization. The YTRI and Markel CJSCs have different goals and are working towards solving different problems. I believe that all of these issues will receive an explanation and the problems that have risen will be solved. The public will be informed about any news.”
