“It was not desirable for an investigation to take place for violating those articles of the constitution in Armenia,” head of the Yerkir Tsirani political party and former deputy Zaruhi Postanjyan told reporters regarding the BBC’s notorious article about the March 1st case.
“The Special Investigative Committee should not have investigated this case. If we truly wanted there to be a comprehensive investigation, then an independent body should have carried it out. But the SIC has taken sides. Nikol Pashinyan is involved in the March 1st case, so he is not separate from it. Therefore, that side cannot be fair and objective. We have already seen this,” Zaruhi Postanjyan said.
According to her, the March 1st case is “latent” now just as it was during Serzh Sargsyan’s administration. “No one was accused of murder. I am sad to see that a political case is taking place instead of making any discoveries.”
