Gyumri Day was mainly celebrated on the historical street named after Shiraz at Sunday. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his family, ministers, parliamentary deputies, guests from other countries, and high-ranking officials from Russia and China were among those in attendance. The opening ceremony for the repaired street also took place, which Hovhannes Shiraz’s children took part in.

This street was repaired at the initiative of former Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan within the framework of a project to turn Gyumri’s historical center into a tourist zone. Karen Karapetyan wanted this road to have red asphalt.

Although the road did not have red asphalt due to immense costs, it was still colorful. Artwork created by residents of Gyumri was presented everywhere. The prime minister visited all of the vendors and congratulated the residents of Gyumri.

There were many people with the prime minister. Everything was done to make sure that the colors of Gyumri were presented. People were singing and dancing everywhere, and Nikol Pashinyan and his wife were even invited to dance on Rustaveli street.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited one of the historical hotels in Gyumri that has managed to retain the city’s old character. He attended a concert on Gyumri’s Vardanants Square and held a speech. Among those performing were Iveta Mukuchyan and Nune Yesayan, the latter of whom gifted musical instruments to the Number 1 Music School.
