On August 27, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh Republic) Masis Mayilian received the delegation from Germany headed by Member of the European Parliament Martin Sonneborn.
Masis Mayilian welcomed the members of the delegation and congratulated Martin Sonneborn on his re-election to the European Parliament. The Foreign Minister expressed confidence that such visits provide an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Artsakh, its realities and new achievements even more thoroughly and comprehensively, as well as expand the circle of Artsakh’s friends and create new ties based on common values.
At the request of Martin Sonneborn, Masis Mayilian briefed on the situation in the conflict zone, as well as the results achieved in the priority areas of the foreign policy of Artsakh.
The participants of the meeting also touched upon the Artsakh – EU relations. The Foreign Minister reiterated the interest of the Artsakh Republic authorities to cooperate in the spheres of education, capacity-building of the civil society and in various humanitarian aspects. In this context, Masis Mayilian noted the importance of renewing the Friendship Group with Artsakh in the European Parliament and underlined the key role of the Group in disseminating reliable information about Artsakh and promoting the interests of the Republic in the European Parliament.

The Foreign Minister also answered the numerous questions of the participants of the meeting related to the state-building process in the Republic, the international recognition and cooperation of Artsakh, as well as the process of peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict.
Chairman of the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy Kaspar Karampetian also participated in the meeting.
