Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan introduced the three fundamental principles of Armenia’s foreign policy to the members of Parliament on August 29, Armenpress reports.
The meeting with the lawmakers has been organized within the frames of the annual conference of the MFA’s central apparatus and the Armenian Ambassadors.
“The conference is being held under the title “Values in Action: Armenia’s Diplomacy in Changing World”. We have identified three dimensions of values which our foreign policy is based on. These are the civilizational values, our historical heritage, and the values of modern democracy and human rights which our people protected and gave a new impetus during the velvet revolution and the subsequent parliamentary elections. During this conference we have clearly fixed the three fundamental principles of Armenia’s foreign policy by the use of which we should pursue Armenia’s and its people’s values and interests at the international arena. These principles are sovereignty, pan-Armenianism and mutual cooperation”, the FM said.
The minister stated that they attach greater importance to an open discussion with MPs, as elected representatives of the Armenian people, on matters concerning everyone. FM Mnatsakanyan also highlighted the cooperation and partnership with all parliamentary formats.
