ARMENPRESS. The Ministry of Justice said it has sent the amended bills on amending the Judicial Code and the Law on the Constitutional Court to the Government.
The amended version features changes made as a result of proposals received during public debates, which namely clarified the regulation of early retirement of Constitutional Court members.
The new regulation envisages that within two months after the law’s initiation, in the event of a Constitutional Court member who has been appointed before Chapter 7 of the Constitution came into force tenders his/her resignation, he or she will receive pensions corresponding to their official salaries and bonuses at the time of the resignation until reaching the pension age.
However, Constitutional Court judges elected after the 2017 January 17 ՀՕ-42-Ն constitutional law’s initiation are not covered by the right envisaged in the 1st clause of the bill.

The bill also envisages the creation of a Judicial Activity Assessment Commission which will carry out regular and extraordinary assessment of judges.
The provision on suspending the duties of a Constitutional Court judge in the event of criminal prosecution has been withdrawn.
