September 06,2019 14:00

Aravot Daily’s interview with the Armenian Ambassador to Canada, Anahit Harutyunyan, as part of the “Stories of Success” series was very direct.

Harutyunyan happily recalled her years in school and at the university when she would go on trips with her friends. She especially spoke about her trips to Yenokavan. She also spoke about reading and literature, noting that she likes Latin American literature. Harutyunyan said that she now mostly reads books relating to her profession; one of the books she read most recently was Justin Trudeau’s “Common Ground.”

Anahit Harutyunyan also spoke about friendship, saying that it is one of the most valuable things for her. She especially likes caring and dedicated individuals. She noted that personal relationships are the most important for her; she can be inspired by good relationships, warm meetings, and more, but she can also be disappointed in such relationships.

Responding to our question of where she received her cultural awareness from due to the fact that she is one of the most cultural ambassadors, Anahit Harutyunyan said, “My mother. She raised us in an interesting way; she never forced us to agree with her tastes. Instead, she led by example.”

When asked where she would take foreign visitors to in Armenia, Anahit Harutyunyan said, “What’s most important for me is that people see how much I love Armenia when I bring them here, not that they see any specific places.”

Anahit Harutyunyan said that she loves her job and is thankful that she had the opportunity to represent Armenia in foreign countries. The ambassador is happy that the Canadian-Armenian community welcomed her. She hopes to make Armenia more well-known among Canadians as she believes that the tie between Armenia and the Diaspora is important. Anahit Harutyunyan considers herself to be a successful person.
