Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held a press conference regarding the recent gathering of ambassadors. Responding to the question of what the goals were for having this initial gathering in collaboration with Artsakh, Mnatsakanyan said, “All of our diplomats visit Artsakh during diplomatic gatherings, and this is an important part of these gatherings. In our current state, it was essential to have these consultations between the two ministries. It is important for us to establish a general platform for evaluations and policies between Armenia and Artsakh.”
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan emphasized, “Every phase of the Artsakh conflict resolution process includes a part where Armenia and Artsakh need to hold bilateral discussions in order to confirm and clarify their mutual approach to the conflict. This is to ensure that Artsakh has a deciding voice. We do not have the authority to speak on behalf of the people of Artsakh, and this is why we believe that promoting the approach of elected officials in Artsakh towards resolving the conflict is a pragmatic way to increase the productivity of the negotiations process.”
