Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan assured parliament that actions are taking place to quickly resolve the issue of using Armenian driver’s licenses in Russia.
My Step deputy Vagharshak Hakobyan asked, “I am interested in your opinion on a statement that was made several days ago regarding Armenian citizens using their driver’s licenses in Russia. The Russian side responded to it, and Konstantin Zatulin accepted that there is discrimination towards Armenia. Were there any discussions after this statement was made? Which phase is the problem’s resolution in right now?”
Shavarsh Kocharyan responded, “This issue was brought up during the Eurasian Economic Commission session in Moscow. The EEC did not foresee such limitations in the agreement that was signed. This limitation is in accordance with the Russian law, and Armenia is the only country that is a member of the EEC against whom such limits are placed. Works are continuing and we hope that we will reach our desired results.”
