“I am embarrassed by the behavior of some forces in regards to the waste crisis,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters at the Vanadzor Technology Center. He noted that those forces, instead of uncovering the corruption that caused this problem, “got all up in arms about it.” He was referring to the fact that the newly-created Yerevan Waste Removal and Sanitary Cleaning Department, which focuses on keeping the city clean, has been targeted.
“I don’t doubt that the level of waste removal in Yerevan will be unprecedented. I believe that such high-quality waste removal has not been seen before in Armenia’s history,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
