“Vanetsyan’s statements allude to the reason behind his resignation. He is making political statements now, and I don’t believe that he is just now beginning to get involved in politics. He was also involved in politics during his time in power, and those are incompatible with one another,” My Step deputy Hrachya Hakobyan told reporters regarding statements made by former National Security Service leader Artur Vanetsyan.
“But, I cannot say what he did during his time in power and how he demonstrated his involvement in politics,” Hakobyan noted.
Hakobyan noted, “I don’t believe the statement that Pashinyan sent someone to silence Vanetsyan. If he has something to say, let him say it. Why didn’t he do anything? His officer’s uniform should have motivated him to make a statement. If he has something to say and isn’t saying it, then what’s the use of wearing that uniform?”
