On September 23, the Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs Heriknaz Tigranyan met with the Foreign Affairs Officer of the U.S. Department Office on Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Sarah Epstein, the Officer on Political Affairs of the U.S. Embassy Christina Hansen, the representatives of the U.S. Embassy Irina Mkrtchyan and Lilit Antonyan to discuss the legislative developments existing in the sphere labor law, the perspectives and the further ways of cooperation.
The Committee Deputy Chair highly assessed the efforts of the U.S. Embassy to the RA to support the establishment of the institutes in the sphere of labor law in our country and the strengthening of the legislative field. During the meeting the parties highlighted the expansion of the authorities of the Labor Inspection Body, the development of the professional capabilities for providing a complete oversight function.
Heriknaz Tigranyan presented the amendments made in the RA Labor Code by the parliament and the draft law expanding the authorities of the Inspection Body that had been put in circulation by the Committee.
The participants of the meeting expressed readiness to organize joint working debates, courses for the improvement of the RA Labor Code and the investment of control online means.
