EU NEIGHBOURS. On 24 September, the EU Ambassador to Armenia, Andrea Wiktorin, and the country’s Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan, participated in a workshop on selecting and evaluating judges for the country’s judiciary.
The event was organised by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in cooperation with Armenia’s authorities.
Ambassador Wiktorin mentioned that following the Armenian Government’s announcement to implement an ambitious reform agenda in the justice sector, the EU reiterates its highest commitment to assist Armenia in this area, to uphold the rule of law and democracy.
The aim of the TAIEX workshop was to provide the Armenian authorities with peer-to-peer expertise in the area of integrity and accountability in the judiciary.
