Nikol Pashinyan made signed the book of condolences at the French Embassy:
“The news of the passing of ex-French President Jacques Chirac was perceived with great pain in Armenia. France has lost a great statesman and a great man.
President Chirac was one of the symbols of the awakening of the Armenian-French interstate relations. The Armenian people will never forget his sincere friendship and the valuable contribution made to the process of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the mediation efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. His state visit to Armenia was a great event for us.
The demise of Jacques Chirac is a great loss for everyone. I express my deepest condolences to the friendly people of France, the French state, as well as Jacques Chirac’s family and relatives.
