Where did Lukashenko spend the night? Tsarukyan assures ‘Alexander Grigoryevich did not spend the night at my house’

October 02,2019 13:24

Journalists asked the head of the Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan, about whether or not the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, spent the night at his house, and if so, what issues they discussed. Tsarukyan responded, “Alexander Grigoryevich did not spend the night at my house. He is my friend, he spent the night at the Government Reception House.”

When asked what issues they discussed, Tsarukyan responded by laughing loudly.

Referring to his friend, Sedrak Arustamyan, who has been charged in a criminal case, Tsarukyan said, “Everyone is equal according to the law. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the case. When they are finished, they will publish their decision. It will be clear for everyone.”

When asked if he tried to clarify what happened, why Arustamyan was specifically targeted, and whether all clues lead to him, Tsarukyan said, “Isn’t Arustamyan a citizen? I haven’t noticed anything. I said that everyone is equal according to the law. There is an investigation. When the investigation is complete, everything will be clear. I haven’t spoken to him about anything.”

Gagik Tsarukyan also published his decision regarding depriving Constitutional Court head Hrayr Tovmasyan of his authority. “The National Assembly is not the one to decide on this; the Constitutional Court is. That is why we discussed it as a party and decided not to vote.”
