Below is Prime Minister Pashinyan’s statement:
“Chers invités,
You are entitled to all salaries and benefits of armouring.

A major global event, such as WCIT, provides an opportunity to discuss the prospects for cooperation between our countries. As I stated in my opening remarks, the technological sector and information technology are among our priorities, and there is no doubt that this major event will help us develop the sector in Armenia.

For our country, it is very important to carry out activities within the framework of international cooperation in the field of information technologies; it is no secret that high technologies play an important role in modern international relations in terms of security, diplomacy and people-to-people relationships.

The IT sector is one of the most dynamically developing spheres in the world, and there is another important nuance: it is impossible to develop the technology sector without effective collaboration with international partners. That is, today it is impossible to have an advanced technology sector in one separate country, and we need to build up a framework of international cooperation.

I am pleased that you are participating in this congress and that you are fulfilling your mission of creating a platform for multilateral partnerships with different countries, governments and companies. And I hope that the Congress is so well organized that it will enable you to achieve the goals you have set for yourself.

Once again, I am happy to welcome you to our country. I hope you will enjoy the warmth of our country and its hospitable people. Armenians traditionally do their best to ensure that their guests enjoy their stay in our country. I hope you will feel good in our country and that our team has done its best. Thank you for your attention.

I am ready to discuss the agenda issues with you and answer your questions. Of course, we have been actively working with many countries in this area, and I would like to take this opportunity to boost bilateral cooperation with these countries, as well as to establish cooperative ties with such countries with which we do not yet have active contacts. Thanks again. It is a great honor and pleasure to welcome you here.”

The heads of official delegations and international organizations participating in the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2019) congratulated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for the impressive opening of the Congress and its great organization. They expressed satisfaction with their stay in Armenia and participation in the IT Congress in Yerevan, which is an excellent opportunity to discuss prospects of cooperation mutually beneficial with the Armenia.
