American-Armenian television star and model Kim Kardashian participated in the World Congress on Information Technology. During the Market of Ideas discussion panel at WCIT 2019, she discussed how she used social media to develop her brand.
“I was maybe 11, 12, or 13 when I watched a reality show and realized that that’s what I want to do. I knew what I wanted, but I didn’t think about how I’d do it. But it worked out for me and I was successful,” Kardashian said.
She noted, “I think it’s normal that people know every detail about my life. When there were times where I wanted to keep the details of my personal life private, I was able to find the perfect balance between being transparent and remaining private.”
Regarding her brands, Kim Kardashian emphasized, “I am involved in every step of creating products for my brands, all the way from packaging to coming up with a logo design. I take care to ensure that every product created is very natural and well thought-out. I try to release something new every month, or sometimes two products for two different brands. With regards to market research, I think it’s good to see what’s on the market, but it’s sometimes not beneficial to keep looking left and right. It’s better to focus on your work. Twitter has been a very helpful platform for me in that aspect. I frequently listen to my followers’ opinions.”
