Iveta Mukuchyan’s ‘Im Anush Hayastan (My Sweet Armenia)’ music video already has many views. The director is Artur Manukyan, the director of photography is Artyom Abovyan, and the music video was produced based on Grigor Kyokchyan’s and Lazzaro’s ‘My Sweet Armenia’ song. Iveta Mukuchyan gladly answered Aravot Daily’s questions.
“I believe that we are living in a time period where we need new Armenian songs that will be upbeat and modern. We attempted to portray our traditions and holidays with a modern twist in this music video. There are scenes where people are beating wool, making wine, and fortune-telling. We have also included the Vardavar, Jangyulum (Ascension), and Trndez holidays. When we filmed this music video, I hoped that it would be something that lasts forever. For example, the songs ‘Hayastan Jan (Dear Armenia)’ and ‘Hayastani Aghjiknere (Armenian Girls)’ was well-received in Armenia and in the Diaspora. Many dance groups and schools hold performances with these songs. This makes me very proud, of course. I hope that ‘Im Anush Hayastan’ will also be as popular,” Iveta Mukuchyan said.
“I always joke that there are two Ivetas- one who is more European, since it’s not a secret that I was raised in Germany, and the other who is more Armenian. Since I am the author of most of my songs, it is important that I don’t betray my commercial type. If we’re talking about Armenian songs, I believe that there is a demand for new and upbeat music that also contains the breath of time,” the singer added.
