ARMENPRESS. Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan signed a decree on awarding two police officers, one of whom was killed and the other was wounded at a yesterday’s incident in Yerevan, with medals for “Strengthening the Legal Order”, for the bravery shown while on duty, the Prosecutor General’s Office told Armenpress.
The Prosecutor General tasked to reveal all the circumstances of the incident aimed at preventing possible such cases in the future.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office considers this terrible crime a blow to itself as well, considering any encroachment against the public servant, even any encroachment attempt intolerable. Such manifestations cannot be justified and should be strongly condemned by the law enforcement authorities and the whole society, as well as the state and public institutions should take actions to form a respective public behavior”, the statement reads.
On October 16, at 04:20, one police officer was shot dead while another was beaten by two persons in Yerevan.
