EU NEIGHBOURS. This summer, the EU opened up a broad, inclusive and structured consultation on the future strategic direction of the Eastern Partnership (EaP). During September-October, each of the Eastern partner countries hosted national discussions on the issue, involving various stakeholders. The last one was held in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv this week.
Those interested in contributing to the consultation process have one week to submit their suggestions on the following website before 31 October 2019. Based on these inputs, as well as on the contributions made in the six Eastern partner countries, a document will be prepared outlining the proposed new framework for the post-2020 Eastern Partnership.
The consultation process is a part of the informal exchanges with a wide range of stakeholders from EU Member States and partner countries, which were launched at the High-Level Conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) this May in Brussels.
