UNICEF to support family-oriented policies in Armenia

ԵՌԱԳՈՅՆ. Armenian government attaches special importance to preservation of families and development of human capital, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan has said at the meeting with UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Representative in Armenia Tanja Radocaj. Mediamax reports.

Ms. Radocaj noted that UNICEF marked significant achievements in the last 25 years and welfare of children progressed in Armenia.

She underlined that given the Armenian government’s initiatives aimed at boosting the increase of population, UNICEF is ready to assist Armenia with implementation of family-oriented policies.

According to Tigran Avinyan, the government understands that investment in children’s welfare is investment in Armenia’s future. Creating good conditions for children and teens contributes greatly to formation of inclusive society, he noted.

The parties also discussed increasing the coverage of pre-school institutions in marzes and issues concerning statistical data on children.
