ARMENPRESS. Baby bonus payments in Armenia will grow starting July 1, 2020, PM Nikol Pashinyan said in parliamentary committee debates of the 2020 budget draft.
“We will have an increase of the baby bonus size, setting it 300 thousand drams. The current procedure defines a 50 thousand and 150 thousand dram baby bonuses for the 1st and 2nd child respectively, but these numbers will grow,” he said, adding that child benefits will also be raised (from the current 18,000 drams to 25,500 drams).
“Programs directed at encouraging growth of birth rate will be implemented,” he said.
The PM also mentioned that the government has already raised the salaries of teachers, law enforcement personnel, rescue-firefighters and foresters.
“In addition we will have a 10% increase of the average pensions,” Pashinyan said.
