“Such statements and such a position are not surprising for us. We have heard them express a similar approach using other means,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told reporters regarding a statement made by Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlut Chavushoglu, that Armenians are terrorists who support Syrian-Kurdish terrorist groups.
“This presents a security issue, which is serious. We are reconfirming our approach that such a position is condemnable, unacceptable, and it reflects the deep fear that this presents a security threat to Armenia on behalf of Turkey. I reject and condemn this perspective,” Zohrab Mnatsakanyan concluded.
