2019 is a jubilee year for your country, which marks 30 years since the reinstatement of your democratic statehood. Initiated in the Czech Republic three decades ago, the tide of peaceful transformations proliferated far beyond its borders, paving the way for a peaceful democratic change that we call a “velvet revolution.” We, too, adhere to this value system, which was reflected in last year’s peaceful, velvet revolution.
I have kept fond recollections of the productive meeting we held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. I was delighted to accept your invitation to visit the Czech Republic, which will be an excellent opportunity to discuss the prospects of friendly partnership between our two countries, including the format of Eastern Partnership.”
