On November 4, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin being on a working visit in Armenia and in the framework of the events of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
Welcoming Vyacheslav Volodin in the RA National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan has noted that this is a significant event, as a visiting plenary sitting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly takes place in Armenia for the first time.
The NA Speaker has underlined that the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is one of the effective platforms for solving agenda items and making consensus decisions. Ararat Mirzoyan has noted that Armenian delegation actively and consecutively works in the being on a working visit in Armenia in the framework of the events of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, permanently implements important expertise works. Touching upon bilateral relations, the Head of the parliament has underlined that Armenia and Russia are strategic allies, and numerous economic projects are carried out. He has also noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the development of parliamentary diplomacy.
Vyacheslav Volodin thanked Ararat Mirzoyan for warm reception, emphasizing the inter-parliamentary cooperation, also the partnership on the international different platforms. He has underscored that the Russian-Armenian friendly relations have deep roots. According to Vyacheslav Volodin, a series of important agenda items will be discussed in the framework of the events of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly to be held on November 5.
