“As far as I understand, shots are fired from both sides. We have confirmed that there are tensions along the Line of Contact,” Russian State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin told reporters regarding the situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
Reporters noted that, along the Armenian-Azeri border in the Tavush region, Azerbaijan violates the ceasefire regime and even fires at civilians. Zatulin said, “If Armenia considers it a priority to discuss this issue with the other CSTO member states, it has the right to do so. But I am not aware of Armenia discussing this with the CSTO.”
According to Zatulin, perhaps what happens along the Tavush border is not serious enough for Armenia to feel the need to appeal to the CSTO. “That is my impression.”
