The son of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, Levon Kocharyan, spoke with reporters before his father’s trial about how he does not exclude the possibility of new criminal cases being fabricated. Speaking about the list of the family’s assets, Levon Kocharyan said that explanations were already given for how they obtained their assets. “I cannot give any numbers, but we obtained everything we have legally.”
Reporters asked why he is the only one to participate in criminal trials. Levon Kocharyan said that he wanted it that way. He did not wish to comment on Stepan Safaryan’s statement that he supported Narek Mutafyan.
Regarding statements that petitions are circulating among Robert Kocharyan’s supporters, Levon Kocharyan said, “There are supporters. I receive letters from people in all different regions. But there is an atmosphere of fear, which is gradually decreasing. Everything needs to be done to get rid of that atmosphere. People are afraid of being attacked and losing their jobs.”
