On November 11, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Czech Republic Friendship Group Gayane Abrahamyan and the Group members met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Armenia Bedřich Kopecký.
At the meeting the importance of the development and deepening of the Armenian-Czech relations was underlined.
The Armenian side expressed its gratitude for the ratification of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Agreement by the Czech Parliament. It was noted that from now on the cooperation in bilateral economic and other spheres would be more purposeful and deep.
As the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary has assured, after the Velvet revolution the Armenian-Czech relations are at new and high level. The cooperation with the communities has been highlighted: at present projects are implemented with the cities of Dilijan and Sevan.

Gayane Abrahamyan noted that unprecedented progress had been registered in the sphere of economy, the goods turnover has almost been doubled and there is also growth in the sphere of tourism. The fact that Armenia could be a bridge between the EEU and the European Union for partnership in different spheres was stressed. She informed that last month she had meetings with the Vice Presidents of the Czech Senate Miluše Horská and Milan Štěch.
During the meeting the issue of the approval of the Resolution on the Armenian Genocide adopted by the House of Representatives adopted by the Senate was also discussed. It has been noted that the item is on the working agendas.
The development of the inter-parliamentary relations was considered important, the cooperation between the Friendship Groups and the role and significance of the parliamentary diplomacy were evaluated.
The MPs informed the guest about the ongoing reforms in the judicial and other spheres of our country and a number of programmes being implemented.
At the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were discussed.
